Safe and Sound Lice & Nit Combs with Magnifying Glass
Enhanced Detection with Magnifier and Wet Combing Treatment

These lice and nit combs are designed to effectively detect headlice and nits, featuring a built-in magnifying glass to aid detailed inspection. Ideal for use with the โ€œwet combingโ€ method of treatment, they help make identification easier and more accurate. For chemical treatments using rinses or lotions, it is recommended to consult your preferred local healthcare professional.

Head lice are small insects, roughly the size of a match head when fully grown, usually grey or brown. Their eggs, called nits, are dull sacs stuck to the base of individual hairs, taking 7โ€“10 days to hatch. Empty white shiny sacs may be found further along the hair shaft as it grows. Lice mature within 7โ€“14 days and can then reproduce.

How to Use
Carefully and thoroughly comb wet hair from root to tips with a Safe & Sound Lice & Nit Comb. Pay particular attention to areas under the fringe, behind the ears and around the nape of the neck. Inspect and then rinse the comb after each stroke. Remember that it is crucial to trace and treat the source of the infestation. Use the magnifying glass to help identify the source of infestation. Regular examination of the whole family should be undertaken, and schools notified where applicable.

Wet Combing Treatment Method:
Head lice may be cleared over a two week period, without the use of chemical preparations, by using a Safe & Sound Lice & Nit Comb as follows: Wash hair in the normal way with your usual shampoo. Whilst hair is very wet, add a generous amount of ordinary conditioner and comb hair thoroughly and carefully with a Safe & Sound Lice & Nit Comb. Ensure that the teeth of the comb slot into the hair at the root for the start of each stroke. Comb over a pale surface, such as a paper towel or the bath, and rinse the comb clear of lice after each stroke. Wet lice find it difficult to escape and conditioner helps to prevent lice keeping a grip on the hair. Repeat this routine every 3-4 days for 2 weeks so that any lice emerging from eggs are not given the opportunity to reproduce.
